Chulalongkorn University launched 'Siam Quantum Square' on January 26, 2026, designed to make Thailand a hub for quantum technology. The initiative includes partnerships with IBM and QTFT to help transition Thailand from being a technology user to an owner.

The center aims to develop personnel in quantum technology, conduct strategic research, and promote collaboration among government, private industry, and international networks. Core areas of focus include Quantum Computing and Quantum AI, with projects in drug development and cybersecurity. The center plans to sign MOUs with organizations like IBM Thailand and Japan's AIST, and to develop international master's and doctoral programs in quantum technology.
