CIP Forms Perigus Energy with 826 MW Renewable Capacity in Europe
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has launched Perigus Energy, acquiring Ørsted's European onshore renewables business. The platform starts with 826 MW of operational and under-construction capacity, supported by government schemes and corporate power purchase agreements, addressing growing European clean power demand.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has relaunched Ørsted's European onshore renewables business as Perigus Energy, which has a capacity of 826 MW. The acquisition was made through CIP's fifth flagship fund, CI V, and includes a portfolio across onshore wind, solar, and battery storage.
Perigus Energy will operate projects in Ireland, Germany, the UK, and Spain, with an existing capacity sufficient to power approximately 600,000 homes. The company aims to convert a multi-gigawatt investment pipeline into new capacity.
Concurrently, pipeline work has begun for Romania's Neptun Deep project, expected to double Romania's gas production by 2027 and enhance energy independence in the EU. The focus on developing domestic energy sources is critical due to geopolitical tensions and energy security concerns.
