Citigroup Unveils Arc: Centralized AI Agent Platform for Bank Operations
Citigroup has introduced Arc, an internal platform for building and deploying AI agents across its operations. This initiative aims to enhance productivity and efficiency by integrating AI tools within the bank's workflows, building on existing AI adoption among employees.

Citigroup has launched Arc, a centralized platform intended for the development and deployment of AI agents across its operations. This platform will initially be available to developers, with plans for broader employee access in the future.
Prior to Arc's launch, approximately 180,000 Citi employees were already utilizing enterprise AI tools, laying the groundwork for this new initiative. The platform will enable agents to assist with tasks like research and execution while ensuring governance and monitoring capabilities are in place.
Other financial institutions, such as Morgan Stanley and BNY Mellon, have initiated similar AI automation efforts, indicating a trend in the industry towards integrating AI as a productivity tool. The successful adoption of Arc will depend on its ability to meet compliance standards and the speed at which it can be implemented across various business lines.
