City Hall Initiates Moat Cleaning at Tugu Pahlawan, Addresses Drainage Issues
City Hall is cleaning the moat at Tugu Pahlawan and urges the concessionaire to maintain drains in Taman Selesa due to public complaints about odors. The moat cleaning is expected to conclude by the end of the month, with a focus on improving water quality and public awareness regarding improper pet releases.

City Hall is currently engaged in a cleaning project for the moat surrounding Tugu Pahlawan, expected to be completed by month-end, subject to weather conditions. The moat covers approximately 1,049.5 square meters within the Ujana Rimba Tropika area of around 14.5 acres.
A contractor has been assigned to remove sediment and aquatic life that has accumulated, including dead fish, due to public negligence. Concurrently, City Hall is urging the concessionaire to address drainage maintenance in Taman Selesa, particularly the roadside drains in Lorong Rampai.
The agency has a cleaning schedule for front-yard drains, while back-yard drains are serviced quarterly. A previous pump for water quality management has been out of service since 2017 due to repair costs.
