Clacton Leisure Centre to Receive £1.36 Million Eco-Friendly Heating System Upgrade
Clacton Leisure Centre will undergo a £1.36 million upgrade to its heating system, replacing oil-fired boilers with an eco-friendly air source heat pump and solar panels. The project is supported by a £1.2 million grant from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and an additional £164,248 from Tendring Council. The sports hall will temporarily close from March 23 to April 24 for structural upgrades, while other areas will remain operational.

Clacton Leisure Centre is set for a £1.36 million upgrade to replace its outdated oil-fired boilers with a modern, energy-efficient heating system. This includes installing an air source heat pump and solar panels on the sports hall roof.
Funded by a £1.2 million grant from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and £164,248 from Tendring Council, the project aims to reduce running costs and carbon emissions. The sports hall will close from March 23 to April 24 for roof upgrades, but other areas will remain open during the work.
