ClimeFi Secures Over 85,000 Tonnes of Carbon Removal Commitments in $18 Million Procurement Round
ClimeFi has successfully completed an $18 million carbon removal procurement round, securing commitments for over 85,000 tonnes of CO₂ removal across eight pathways, including Biochar and Direct Air Capture. The initiative, which focused on aggregating demand from multiple buyers, achieved an average price of $213 per tonne and emphasized technical robustness in supplier selection. With 71% of commitments located in the Americas, the results reflect increasing confidence in scalable carbon removal solutions through long-term contracts.

ClimeFi has completed a carbon removal procurement round, resulting in over $18 million in purchases and securing commitments for more than 85,000 tonnes of CO₂ removal. The procurement spans eight pathways, including Biochar, Direct Air Capture, and Terrestrial Biomass Sequestration, with an average price of $213 per tonne.
This process aggregated demand from multiple buyers, enabling them to access better commercial terms and volume discounts over a six-month period. Suppliers were selected through a structured proposal process, focusing on technical robustness and alignment with client needs, with a minimum capacity requirement of 20,000 tonnes for the 2026-2030 period. The projects are distributed across four continents, with 71% of commitments located in the Americas, emphasizing the growing confidence in durable carbon removal solutions and long-term contracts to support project scalability.
