Clivet Advances Sustainability with BACS and Natural Refrigerants Ahead of EU Regulations
Clivet, an Italian HVAC manufacturer, is implementing a sustainability roadmap to comply with new EU building regulations effective in Q2 2026. The company's focus on advanced Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) and natural refrigerants positions it to lead in the shift towards zero-emission buildings.

Clivet is set to comply with new EU building regulations requiring Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) for all new homes and major renovations by Q2 2026. The company has already introduced natural refrigerants in its systems, such as R-290 in the EDGE PRO heat pumps, which have a Global Warming Potential of 3, and R-454C in the FULLNESS system with a GWP below 150.
Clivet's BACS technology is designed to reduce energy consumption by up to 42%. The company provides integrated solutions that include CONTROL4NRG, INTELLIPLANT, and INTELLIAIR platforms. Clivet's proactive approach in sustainability may set a precedent for other manufacturers amid increasing regulatory pressures.
