Collegedale Municipal Airport Enhances Safety with New Lighting System
Collegedale Municipal Airport will install a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) lighting system at a cost of $30,000. This upgrade aims to enhance night-time safety for airport users, replacing outdated indicators that have been non-functional for nearly a decade.

The Collegedale City Commission approved a $30,000 project to install a PAPI lighting system at the municipal airport, with the city covering $15,000. A study to determine installation requirements will be completed within 90 days of the grant award.
Additionally, the commission authorized emergency repairs on a sewer pump station discharge pipe, costing $35,430, bringing the upgrade total to $3,378,959. A Memorandum of Understanding with WWTA allows for temporary wastewater acceptance from Cambridge Village.
Preventia Security was selected for citywide camera coverage at $64,979, despite not being the lowest bid. New equipment purchases for public works include various vehicles, all under budget.
