Columbus Secures Over $10.7M for Water and Sewer Enhancements
Columbus has received $10.7 million for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements to enhance system resilience. This funding targets aging infrastructure and aims to mitigate service disruptions during extreme weather events.

Columbus has been awarded $10,771,146 through the Hurricane Helene State Revolving Fund, focusing on enhancing water and wastewater systems. The funding consists of $10 million for drinking water projects, with $8.75 million designated for principal forgiveness and $1.25 million as a 0% loan, alongside $771,146 for wastewater improvements including generator installations and SCADA upgrades.
These enhancements aim to bolster system integrity against natural disasters and improve service reliability. Continued efforts to seek additional external funding will be critical for managing the town's infrastructure needs while maintaining affordability for residents.
