Como Municipal Council Approves Installation of Four Fixed Speed Cameras
The Como municipality has contracted Project Automation Spa for a 20-month rental of four fixed speed cameras, totaling €170,713. Installation is planned for high-risk traffic areas, with activation dates yet to be confirmed.

The municipality of Como has engaged Project Automation Spa for the rental of four fixed speed cameras under a contract amounting to €170,713, effective for 20 months. The cameras will be installed on Via Napoleona, Via Pasquale Paoli, Via Varesina, and Via Canturina, targeting areas identified as high-risk for speed-related incidents.
This decision follows a prior reduction from ten to four cameras as part of a strategic initiative to decrease traffic accidents. The model K53800_SPEED will monitor compliance with the 50 km/h speed limit and is approved for use.
The rental costs will be distributed over three years, with allocations of €19,650 in 2026, €80,000 in 2027, and €71,028 in 2028. Enhanced speed monitoring is expected to bolster road safety in Como.
