Conrail Partners with WAGO to Modernize Rail Infrastructure
Conrail is enhancing its rail operations through a strategic partnership with WAGO to improve automation and reliability. The collaboration targets modernization of critical systems, including movable bridges and trackside bungalows, utilizing advanced technology to phase out outdated components.

Conrail is modernizing its rail infrastructure by integrating WAGO's automation products, including PLCs and optocouplers, initiated in 2019 with a new hump yard automation project. The partnership aims to address challenges faced with traditional AAR terminals, particularly in movable bridge projects, where WAGO's spring pressure terminals provide superior vibration resistance.
Additionally, Conrail is simplifying cable termination in trackside bungalows with WAGO's feed-through terminals, enhancing efficiency and reliability. The ongoing collaboration may establish new industry standards as Conrail works to phase out older technologies.
