Construction of New Asphalt Pump Track at Mt. Nelson Athletic Park in Invermere
The Mt. Nelson Pump Track Revitalization Project, with a budget of approximately $620,000, is set to begin construction in September 2026. This initiative aims to provide a modern, low-maintenance asphalt track for riders of all ages, thereby enhancing local recreational facilities and supporting economic growth in the Columbia Valley region.

The Mt. Nelson Pump Track Revitalization Project will transform the existing dirt pump track at Mt. Nelson Athletic Park into an asphalt track designed for diverse riders, including cyclists, skateboarders, and adaptive users.
Scheduled construction will commence in September 2026 after site preparation begins on August 17. The project has raised over $510,000 to date, with significant contributions from Columbia Basin Trust and the Resort Municipality Initiative totaling $480,000.
Over $103,000 is still needed to finalize funding. The new facility will consist of two tracks catering to various skill levels, and it is expected to be completed by early October 2026, positioning Invermere as a key destination for mountain biking and related activities.
