Coshocton County Initiates Land Use Plan with Resident Engagement
Coshocton County is developing a new land use plan, with public input crucial for guiding future growth. Aiming for completion by May 2027, the plan will update the 2006 framework to better manage economic and environmental needs while addressing zoning regulations.

Coshocton County is set to revise its land use plan, initially created in 2006, to promote economic growth and development. A public meeting to gather resident feedback is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on August 31 at the Coshocton County Community Room, while a steering committee meeting will precede it on August 24.
The updated plan aims to incorporate geographic information system (GIS) mapping and local stakeholder input. Project leader Kellie Hayden, replacing Evelyn Morrison, intends to finalize the plan by May 2027, coinciding with a $50,000 grant deadline from the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
Changes in local zoning and agriculture, particularly from Amish land purchases, will also be addressed. The current zoning regulations only apply to Coshocton, West Lafayette, and Warsaw, limiting oversight on new developments like the Aligned Data Center.
