CSIR Transfers 13 Indigenous Building Technologies to Industry
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has transferred 13 indigenous building technologies to various industries and startups. This initiative aligns with India's goal of enhancing self-reliance and sustainable infrastructure development.
On May 12, CSIR-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) transferred 13 technologies focusing on fire safety, sustainable construction, and energy efficiency. Key technologies include fire-resistant coatings, low-carbon brick manufacturing, and a hybrid solar-assisted heat pump system.
This transfer supports India's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, promoting innovation-led development. The initiative strengthens the national innovation ecosystem and emphasizes the importance of industry-oriented technology dissemination. Additionally, CSIR's Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology is collaborating with Serum Institute on gene therapy commercialization, highlighting diverse technological advancements.
