CTUT Students Develop Smart VFD Management Solution
A team from Can Tho University of Technology (CTUT) has created the VFD-IoT SmartLink, an IoT solution for managing variable frequency drives (VFDs). This innovation addresses the challenges faced by small and medium enterprises in managing VFD systems, reducing downtime and operational costs.

The VFD-IoT SmartLink project, developed by students from the Electrical and Electronics Department at CTUT, offers a dynamic IoT platform for controlling multiple VFDs. The solution simplifies configuration through a user-friendly interface, enabling operators to adjust settings without needing to modify firmware.
This innovation was recognized with the top prize at the CTUT STARTUP 2026 competition. The project team, guided by instructor Diệp Long, emphasizes practical applications and aims to commercialize the product. The team plans to enhance system stability and functionality, while promoting the solution to small and medium enterprises and educational institutions.
