CVC DIF Acquires Firstcolo, Expanding Data Center Operations in Germany
CVC DIF has acquired a majority stake in German colocation provider Firstcolo, with the deal expected to close by September 2026. This acquisition positions CVC DIF to enhance its footprint in the supply-constrained FLAPD data center market, emphasizing growth through the development of FRA7, a new facility scheduled for early 2027.

CVC DIF, the infrastructure arm of CVC, is set to acquire a significant majority stake in Firstcolo Holding GmbH, a Frankfurt-based colocation provider, from Cube Infrastructure Managers, with closure expected by September 2026. Firstcolo operates two nearly fully-utilized facilities in Frankfurt and is developing a new data center, FRA7, in Rosbach, featuring 24MW of capacity and designed for high-density workloads.
The existing facilities include Werkhaus, with 1,000 racks, and AOC Data Center, with around 390 racks. The investment underscores CVC DIF's strategy to capitalize on the growing demand for colocation services in Germany, particularly in light of the upcoming FRA7 project, which is positioned to support AI and cloud workloads. Potential risks include market volatility and competition in the data center sector.
