Davis & Shirtliff Achieves 900-Project Milestone in East Africa's Water and Solar Initiatives
Davis & Shirtliff has completed over 900 community projects under its Improving Lives Initiative, enhancing access to clean water and solar energy in Kenya and East Africa. The initiative, through partnerships, delivered 108 projects benefiting over 200,000 people. Key projects include a solarized borehole pump for Joytown Secondary School and a solar-powered system in Kajiado County, providing clean water to hundreds. The focus on sustainable solutions addresses water and energy insecurity amid climate change.

Notable projects include an automated irrigation system in Isiolo County, a solar-powered borehole pump for Joytown Secondary School impacting over 400 students, and a solar pumping system in Kajiado County supplying 15,000 liters of water daily to over 300 residents. The initiative addresses significant gaps in water and electricity access, with only 25% of households having safely managed drinking water and a quarter of Kenyans lacking reliable electricity. The program aims to improve livelihoods and infrastructure sustainably.
