Delaware County Commissioners Approve Infrastructure Projects and Railroad Crossing Adjustments
Delaware County commissioners have approved amendments to a pump station upgrade contract and secured postponements of railroad crossing closures. These actions are crucial in managing traffic disruptions and enhancing regional infrastructure capacity.

Delaware County commissioners have approved a contract amendment with Black & Veatch Corporation for upgrades to the East Alum Creek Pump Station, increasing the total cost to $701,317. The project scope was expanded to include additional design for a retaining wall due to site conditions.
Concurrently, the commissioners facilitated negotiations with CSX Transportation to postpone road closures at railroad crossings, mitigating potential traffic disruptions. The crossings impacted include Lewis Center Road, Shanahan Road, and Berlin Station Road, with work projected to last from June 15 to June 22.
The existing pump station, built in 1992, is nearing capacity, necessitating these upgrades ahead of a new facility planned for 2028-2030. The postponements at railroad crossings may prevent extended traffic delays, indicating a proactive approach to infrastructure management.
