The advanced tunnel under the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is 95% complete, enhancing traffic management with AI technology. This project is significant due to its integration with ecological considerations in the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve.

The construction of the advanced tunnel on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is nearing completion, with 95% of the work finished. This project, part of the Bharatmala Project, has been ongoing for approximately four-and-a-half years, highlighting the challenges posed by the ecological sensitivity of the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve.
Dilip Buildcon is the contractor, and the tunnel will employ Artificial Intelligence to monitor traffic. Features include a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, jet fans for air circulation, and AI-enabled night vision cameras for vehicle monitoring. The tunnel will maintain a controlled environment, ensuring temperatures remain between 25°C and 30°C throughout the year, improving commuter comfort.
