Diffraqtion Secures Over $10M for Quantum Camera Development with Lockheed Martin and Sumitomo Investments
Diffraqtion has raised over $10 million in funding to advance its quantum camera technology, primarily for defense and space applications. The investments from Lockheed Martin Ventures and Presidio Ventures are set to support the development of Diffraqtion's first fielded camera, enhancing detection capabilities significantly.

Diffraqtion has raised over $10 million through strategic investments from Lockheed Martin Ventures and Presidio Ventures, including follow-on participation from existing investors. The funding will facilitate the development of the company's first fielded quantum camera, which aims to provide flight heritage via a hosted payload on a partner spacecraft.
The company has achieved notable milestones such as on-sky demonstrations and progress in DARPA and NASA programs, including a Phase I SBIR for orbital debris tracking. Diffraqtion's quantum cameras leverage spatial light characteristics to resolve features up to 20 times smaller than conventional systems, significantly improving target classification speed.
The company has appointed Peter Kazlas as Head of Engineering to lead its efforts in moving from lab development to deployment. This technology could have broad applications in defense, space, and autonomous systems.
