Digital Process Innovations in Aircraft Manufacturing via Ensenso 3D Vision
The DiCADeMA project enhances aircraft cabin manufacturing using an Ensenso 3D camera for precise drilling position alignment. This digital approach reduces production time and increases accuracy through automation and continuous data tracking.

The DiCADeMA project aims to create a seamless digital thread from design to production in aircraft manufacturing. Utilizing the Ensenso N36 3D camera, the system captures three-dimensional point clouds and compares them with CAD data to detect deviations, enabling precise drilling position adjustments.
An autonomous mobile robot (AMR) is integrated into the process, achieving a positioning accuracy of about five millimeters. This automation reduces manual measurements, increases repeatability, and allows assembly personnel to concentrate on actual assembly tasks. Future steps will focus on improving system accuracy and evaluation algorithms for enhanced performance.
