DPRK Advances Construction of Fertilizer Production Base
The DPRK is accelerating the construction of a compound granulated fertilizer production facility in North Hwanghae Province, aimed at enhancing agricultural yields, particularly for wheat and barley. This facility's capacity, which will reach tens of thousands of tons, is expected to significantly boost fertilizer supply, crucial for crop productivity.

Construction of a new compound granulated fertilizer production base in North Hwanghae Province is nearing completion, with a capacity set to reach tens of thousands of tons. The project is designed to enhance agricultural output by providing essential fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
A dedicated construction force has prioritized material supply, facilitating the rapid completion of over ten associated projects. Key local entities, including the Sariwon Equipment Assembly Station and Sariwon Organic Compound Fertilizer Factory, are actively involved in producing custom equipment and improving production automation.
The expansion of production capacity at the Singye Apatite Mine is also underway, supporting this initiative. This development could lead to increased agricultural productivity but may also intensify resource allocation debates within the region.
