Drive System Design Launches Automated Test Platform for E-Motor Optimization, Reducing Testing Time by 75%

Drive System Design (DSD) has launched an automated eMotor and Inverter Optimization Test Programme that significantly reduces electric motor optimization testing time by over 75%. The platform executes around 20,000 optimization points in less than 48 hours, addressing the lengthy motor optimization mapping process.

Utilizing a MATLAB/Simulink-based automation routine, the system operates continuously without supervision, managing thermal conditions and optimizing dyno use. DSD is also implementing rig and fixture techniques to simulate real-world loads earlier in the development process, enhancing mechanical validation before vehicle or aircraft integration.
