Drive System Design Launches Automated Test Platform for E-Motor Optimization, Reducing Testing Time by 75%
Drive System Design has introduced an automated eMotor and Inverter Optimization Test Programme that reduces electric motor optimization testing time by over 75%. The platform can execute approximately 20,000 optimization points in under 48 hours, facilitating faster development for automotive, aerospace, marine, defense, and off-highway applications. It operates unmanned, managing thermal conditions and enhancing dyno utilization, while also incorporating techniques to replicate real-world loads early in the development cycle.

Drive System Design (DSD) has launched an automated eMotor and Inverter Optimization Test Programme that significantly reduces electric motor optimization testing time by over 75%. The platform executes around 20,000 optimization points in less than 48 hours, addressing the lengthy motor optimization mapping process.
Utilizing a MATLAB/Simulink-based automation routine, the system operates continuously without supervision, managing thermal conditions and optimizing dyno use. DSD is also implementing rig and fixture techniques to simulate real-world loads earlier in the development process, enhancing mechanical validation before vehicle or aircraft integration.
