DVC Unveils Advanced SCADA/EMS System to Enhance Grid Operations
The launch of DVC's SCADA/EMS system represents a significant upgrade in grid management for India's power sector. This development aims to improve real-time data acquisition and enhance coordination with national grids.

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) launched an advanced SCADA/EMS system on March 30, 2026, at its Load Dispatch Centre in Kolkata, marking a milestone in grid modernization. Supplied and installed by GE Vernova, the system enables real-time data acquisition from DVC's generation and transmission assets while enhancing integration with regional and national grids.
This implementation positions DVC as the first State Load Dispatch Centre in India to adopt such advanced technology under the ULDC Eastern Region Phase-III Project, potentially setting new standards for operational efficiency and reliability in grid management. The move is expected to influence future investments in smart grid technologies across the region.
