EBOR Automotive Systems Opens New Plant in Kariega, Strengthening Eastern Cape Manufacturing
EBOR Automotive Systems has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Kariega, investing R145 million. This expansion enhances the Eastern Cape's automotive sector and is projected to boost local employment and production capabilities.

EBOR Automotive Systems has invested R145 million in a new manufacturing plant in Kariega, expanding its production capacity and supporting OEMs in the region. The facility covers 8,000 to nearly 9,800 square meters and includes advanced production lines, robotic automation, and quality testing equipment, employing approximately 140-141 workers.
The investment aims to enhance the local automotive value chain and strengthen the Nelson Mandela Bay manufacturing sector, which contributes around 22% to the area's GDP. This development is expected to stimulate supplier development and support job retention in the Eastern Cape's automotive industry.
