Edward Sagar 'Ted' Fort, Founder of Fort Vale Engineering, Dies at 88

Ted Fort, the founder of Fort Vale Engineering Limited, has died at the age of 88. He started the company in 1967 after purchasing surplus machines from a Ministry of Defence sale. Fort Vale became a leader in valve technology for fuel delivery, expanding internationally and winning four Queen's Awards for Export Achievement.
Fort was awarded an OBE in 1987 for his contributions to business. He also established charitable foundations and commissioned the Fort Climate Centre in Beaulieu, which was opened in 2023 by HRH the Duchess of Sussex. The company continues to grow with significant investments in manufacturing.
