Elm City Awards $599,000 Contract for Lift Station Rehabilitation to Ed Braswell & Sons Inc.
The Elm City Board of Commissioners awarded a $599,000 contract to Ed Braswell & Sons Inc. for the rehabilitation of multiple lift stations. The project aims to restore the lift stations to their original design performance, involving the replacement of pumps, valves, control panels, and installation of SCADA systems. The funding is sourced from town appropriations through the American Rescue Plan Act. Additional expenditures for safety equipment at the town lagoon and chemical pumps were also approved.

Ed Braswell & Sons was the lowest bidder, surpassing the next bid by $89,038.97. Additionally, a $3,000 expenditure for chemical pumps was approved, and safety equipment for the town lagoon has been delivered and is being installed. Town staff is reviewing utility billing issues and exploring new patrol contract options with local law enforcement.
