The World Tech Center, proposed by aerospace engineer Raphael Chryslar, aims to rebuild the Twin Towers in Chicago as AI data centers and STEM laboratories. The design features a central concrete core, fireproof steel beams, and advanced safety measures, including mass dampers, a dedicated fire department, and aerial defense systems like missiles and lasers.
The project envisions a comprehensive campus with additional facilities for physics, engineering, and performing arts, and is projected to open in 2050. Currently in phase 2, the initiative is gathering community feedback, with no funding or official support from the city.
