EOS Proposes Laser Systems to Germany for Counter-Drone and Space Defense
Electro Optic Systems has put forth proposals for high-energy laser systems to Germany, focusing on counter-drone and satellite defense. This move aligns with Germany's strategic investment in military space capabilities, earmarking 35 billion euros by 2030.

Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has presented Germany with two advanced high-energy laser systems for counter-drone and space asset protection during a visit by Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to Canberra. The proposals include the Apollo 100-kilowatt laser weapon for drone engagement and an Atlas family laser system to disable satellite optical systems, with a mobile version, Atlas M/R, under development.
Germany aims to enhance its military capabilities with a 35 billion euro investment in space security by 2030, including the SATCOMBw4 program for military satellite communications. EOS's history with Berlin includes prior sales of remote weapon stations, which may influence future procurement decisions.
