EPB Launches Quantum Computing Fellowship with $4 Million Federal Grant
EPB has launched a Quantum Computing Fellowship with a $4 million grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, aimed at providing training and practical experience in quantum computing for the Chattanooga community. In partnership with IonQ, the program seeks to enhance national security and economic competitiveness while fostering a skilled workforce. Local Congressman Chuck Fleischmann has expressed support for advancements in quantum technology.

EPB has launched a Quantum Computing Fellowship funded by a $4 million grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, awarded in 2024. The program aims to provide training and real-world experience in quantum computing, benefiting both EPB customers and the Chattanooga community.
This initiative is in partnership with IonQ, a leader in quantum computing. EPB previously installed an IonQ Forte Enterprise quantum computer at the EPB Quantum Center in Chattanooga.
