Equans' Denton & Hilltop Project Wins Three Awards for GSHP Implementation in Newcastle
The Denton & Hilltop project, led by Equans, has received three awards for replacing gas heating with Ground Source Heat Pumps in Newcastle. The project, commissioned by Newcastle City Council and Your Homes Newcastle, aims to reduce carbon emissions and energy bills. It utilizes smart controls from Switchee, contributing to the city's decarbonisation efforts. The project won accolades at the North East Energy Efficiency Awards, Insider North East Property Awards, and Constructing Excellence North East Awards.

The Denton & Hilltop project in Newcastle, executed by Equans, has been awarded three accolades for its innovative replacement of a gas heating system with Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHPs). This initiative, commissioned by Newcastle City Council and Your Homes Newcastle, involved the complete removal of an outdated ducted air gas heating system.
The GSHP technology utilizes underground heat to provide efficient home heating and hot water, significantly reducing energy bills for residents. The project's success in promoting energy efficiency and decarbonisation has been recognized with awards from the North East Energy Efficiency Awards, the Insider North East Property Awards, and the Constructing Excellence North East Awards.
