Ethereum to Launch ERC-8004 AI Agent Standard, Prioritizing Post-Quantum Security
Ethereum is launching ERC-8004, a new standard for AI agents that facilitates identity verification and trust across systems, featuring three registries for identity, reputation, and validation. The Ethereum Foundation is also prioritizing post-quantum security by forming a team to address encryption risks from quantum computing. Additionally, developments in the crypto sector include governance proposals in the Optimism community and Tether's purchase of gold to enhance its reserves.

Ethereum is set to introduce ERC-8004, a new standard for AI agents that enables them to identify each other, verify their identities, and establish trust across different systems. This standard includes three registries: an identity registry for unique agent identifiers, a reputation registry for performance feedback, and a validation registry for independent work checks.
Additionally, the Ethereum Foundation is prioritizing post-quantum security by forming a dedicated team led by Thomas Coratger to address potential quantum computing risks to encryption. In other developments, the Optimism community is voting on a governance proposal to link OP token value with the Superchain's economic performance, while Solana focuses on financial infrastructure amid a shift from speculative projects. Tether is purchasing gold to strengthen its reserves, and OKX launched a new crypto debit card in Europe, demonstrating the increasing integration of stablecoins into financial infrastructure.
