EU Allocates Nearly €2M for Cross-Border CCUS Project in Øresund Region
The EU is allocating nearly €2 million to support a carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) project in the Øresund region of Denmark, part of the Interreg Øresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak cooperation. Led by Copenhagen Malmö Port, the initiative aims to integrate CCUS into the energy system over three years, focusing on value chain synergies, CO₂ commercialization, and financing. Future regional EU initiatives will examine energy system interconnections and supply security.

The EU is providing nearly €2 million in funding to support carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) in the Øresund region of Denmark. The project, under the Interreg Øresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak cooperation, aims to integrate CCUS into the energy system over three years.
