EU Allocates Nearly €2M for Cross-Border CCUS Project in Øresund Region
CARBON CAPTURE
The EU is providing nearly €2 million in funding to support carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) in the Øresund region of Denmark. The project, under the Interreg Øresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak cooperation, aims to integrate CCUS into the energy system over three years.
Copenhagen Malmö Port leads the consortium, which includes E.ON Energy Infrastructure, Green2x, and others. Strategies will focus on value chain synergies, CO₂ commercialization, and financing. Future regional initiatives in the EU will explore energy system interconnections and supply security.
