Expro Launches Solus Single-Valve System for Subsea Well Operations
Expro has introduced the Solus single shear and seal ball valve system, designed to replace the traditional two-valve setup for subsea well interventions. The system, compliant with NACE MR0175 and tested to API Std 17G, simplifies operations across the well lifecycle, including exploration, appraisal, and decommissioning. Already deployed in the Gulf of Mexico and North Sea, it offers bi-directional sealing for gas and liquids and features a modular design to enhance efficiency and safety.

Expro has launched the Solus single shear and seal ball valve system, intended to streamline subsea well access by replacing the conventional two-valve configuration with a single valve. This system is designed for high-debris environments, providing bi-directional sealing for gas and liquids on wireline and coiled tubing.
The Solus valve, compliant with NACE MR0175 and tested to API Std 17G, can be deployed in both riser and open-water applications throughout the well lifecycle. It has already been used in a completions project in the Gulf of Mexico and a P&A campaign in the North Sea.
The valve's modular design allows for effective isolation from the well and is aimed at supporting smaller BOP stack configurations. This development reflects industry efforts to improve safety and lower costs in subsea operations.
