Exum Instruments Inc. has introduced the next generation Massbox®, an advanced platform in Laser Ablation Laser Ionization Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (LALI-TOF-MS). This system meets the increasing demands of various scientific fields for fast, sensitive solid sample analysis.

Key advancements include an airlock system reducing vacuum pump-down time to under one minute, a versatile sample holder for components of varying sizes, and a direct-injection TOF for enhanced ion transport efficiency. The Massbox is targeted for applications in battery research, geoscience, and advanced manufacturing, providing critical analysis capabilities. Oregon State University's College of Engineering is among the early adopters of this technology.
