Ferris State University Enhances Plastics Education with PCS Company Donation
Ferris State University has received an 11-by-18-inch mold base from PCS Company to advance its plastics engineering program. This collaboration aims to equip students with practical skills and knowledge to meet industry demands, fostering innovation in the plastics sector.

Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, has received a significant donation from PCS Company, which includes an ASTM D638 Type 1 Tensile Bar mold base with integrated pressure sensors. This equipment will enhance the university's plastics engineering technology program, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in injection molding and process optimization.
The donation follows a previous contribution from LS Mtron, which provided two 55-ton injection molding machines to Ferris and Pittsburg State University in August 2025. The program emphasizes practical skills, sustainability, and collaboration with industry partners, addressing the mentorship gap as many experienced professionals retire. The focus on innovation and real-world exposure is critical as the industry evolves toward automation and intelligent production systems.
