Flooding Incident in Littlehampton Affects Nine Properties Following Pumping Station Failure
A technical failure at Southern Water's Foreshore Water Pumping Station caused flooding in Littlehampton on February 19, affecting up to nine properties. One resident, Robbie Davison, reported his basement flat was inundated, with water levels reaching waist height and sewage entering through toilets and doors.
Emergency services responded, with firefighters pumping out water before Southern Water took over. The last fire crew left at 12:45 am. Davison, whose belongings were damaged, called for a permanent solution to prevent future flooding, as he experienced a similar incident in October 2021. Southern Water acknowledged the issue and worked with emergency services to assist residents.
