Ford Recalls 47,804 Vehicles for EGR Valve Issues Affecting EcoBoost Engines
Ford has issued a recall for 47,804 vehicles, including models with 1.5-, 2.0-, and 2.3-liter EcoBoost engines, due to potential EGR valve failures. The recall is attributed to possible detachment of the poppet head, leading to excessive exhaust gas flow and loss of power.
Investigations began in July 2025 after five warranty claims from outside North America. The initial analysis indicated poor weld penetration, which may cause engine stalls. Interim notifications will be sent from March 16-20, 2026.
Affected models include the 2025 Mustang, Bronco, Ranger, Explorer, Escape, Bronco Sport, Maverick, Edge, and Lincoln's Nautilus and Corsair. Remedy development is ongoing, potentially involving new EGR valve assemblies.
