Fraunhofer IPA, Trumpf, and Lorch Win euRobotics Award for Cobot Welding Innovation
The collaboration between Fraunhofer IPA, Trumpf, and Lorch was recognized with the euRobotics Technology Transfer Award for a no-code solution that enables companies to utilize collaborative robots (cobots) for welding without specialized expertise. This innovation addresses the pressing need for automated welding solutions due to workforce shortages in the industry.

Fraunhofer IPA, along with Trumpf and Lorch, won the euRobotics Technology Transfer Award for their project 'TR4CE-Weld', which features a no-code solution for cobot welding. This technology allows for automatic planning of welding paths without prior programming, addressing labor shortages in the welding sector.
The award, given at the European Robotics Forum in Stavanger, Norway, highlights the importance of technology transfer in maintaining Europe's competitiveness in robotics. The system has already been integrated into Trumpf's 'Smart Seam Tracking' and Lorch's 'Seam Pilot'. The ongoing collaboration between Fraunhofer IPA and Trumpf aims to extend this innovation to other robotic processes, indicating potential for further advancements in automation.
