Garrett Motion Inc. has awarded its first serial production contract to Cling for its oil-free, foil bearing centrifugal compressor, aimed at electric buses and trucks in China, with production slated to begin in 2027. This compressor features a high-speed motor exceeding 160,000 RPM and is designed to be 50% smaller, 30% lighter, and 10 dB quieter than traditional compressors.

It supports 400V-800V heat pump systems and low-pressure refrigerants, with an expected lifespan of 45,000 hours without maintenance. The technology has undergone extensive testing in 2025, establishing benchmarks for efficiency and thermal performance in commercial vehicles.
