Geocycle to Invest $125 Million in Latin America for Waste Management Expansion
Geocycle, Holcim's waste management division, will invest $125 million in Latin America by 2030 to enhance co-processing capacities. This initiative aims to reprocess waste into alternative fuels, complementing over $55 million previously invested in 14 regional facilities.

Geocycle plans to allocate $125 million towards expanding co-processing and circular economy infrastructure in Latin America by 2030. This builds on an existing investment of over $55 million to develop 14 facilities, which processed about 1 million tons of waste in 2025, meeting 30.1% of Holcim's thermal energy demand in the region.
The initiative has avoided approximately 1.1 million tons of CO2 emissions. Partnerships with companies like Nestlé and PepsiCo enhance waste management efforts, while projects in the public sector, including a sorting facility in Ecuador, demonstrate urban sustainability benefits. The investment will also focus on enhancing technological capabilities and safety protocols.
