In September 2025, Girard Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. completed a whole-home conversion project in Springfield, MA, replacing an oil steam boiler with a Mitsubishi Smart Multi Hyper Heat Pump System. This transition to an all-electric multi-zone cold climate heat pump aimed to resolve heating issues and improve comfort.

The project qualified for a $10,000 Whole Home Rebate and a $2,000 Federal Tax Credit under the Mass Save Program. The installation included a comprehensive warranty of 12 years for parts and two years for labor. This reflects a trend in New England towards electric heat pump technology for efficient heating solutions.
