Göktürk-2B Satellite Captures Mount Ağrı from Space
The Göktürk-2B satellite, launched on April 15, 2020, has completed 16,100 orbits, providing detailed images of Türkiye. This capability enhances the country's geospatial intelligence and monitoring efforts.

The Göktürk-2B satellite has taken high-resolution images of Mount Ağrı, with a resolution below one meter, over an area of 8,485,000 square kilometers. Since its launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in the USA, the satellite has been operational for three years and has completed 16,100 orbits at an altitude of 680 kilometers.
The ongoing mission supports Türkiye's objectives in geospatial analysis and environmental monitoring. This technological advancement could improve national security assessments and resource management strategies.
