Grab Malaysia Expands Green Programme with Local Conservation Partnerships in Borneo

CARBON CAPTURE

Grab Malaysia has expanded its Grab Green Programme by partnering with the Kuamut Rainforest Conservation Project in Sabah and WWF-Malaysia's Mangrove and Marine Mammal Conservation in Sarawak. The programme allows consumers to voluntarily contribute up to RM0.20 for each ride or GrabFood and GrabMart order, funding certified carbon credits and local environmental projects.

The Kuamut project protects 83,381 hectares of rainforest and at least 30 threatened species, while the Sarawak initiative focuses on conserving mangrove ecosystems and endangered Irrawaddy dolphins. Grab also promotes sustainability through options to reduce single-use plastics and has introduced an electric vehicle fleet at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to support low-emission transport. These efforts align with Malaysia's environmental goals and enhance community engagement in conservation.
