Graphite One Advances Ohio Battery Materials Facility with EPA Permit Progress
Graphite One's air permit application for its Ohio facility has been deemed complete by the Ohio EPA, moving into technical review. This milestone is crucial for establishing a U.S.-based advanced graphite supply chain, with production expected to commence in late 2027.

Graphite One Inc. has achieved a significant milestone as the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has accepted its air permit application for the Active Anode Materials facility in Conneaut, Ohio, initiating a technical review phase. The facility aims to produce synthetic AAM, with an initial capacity of 10,000 tonnes per year, expanding to 25,000 tonnes annually.
The project is part of a broader strategy to create a fully integrated domestic U.S. graphite supply chain, linking production from Alaska to battery material manufacturing in Ohio. Production is projected to start in Q4 2027, enhancing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness and reducing reliance on foreign supply chains. This milestone reflects a series of advancements in Graphite One's permitting and project development activities throughout 2026.
