Green Plains Reports Increased Ethanol Capacity and Earnings in Q4 2025
Green Plains Inc. reported stronger fourth-quarter earnings in 2025, driven by improved plant performance and higher ethanol production capacity. The company increased its production capacity to 730 million gallons per year, with several plants exceeding original capacity. Green Plains launched CO2 compression equipment at its Nebraska plants, enhancing its carbon capture efforts. Despite a decrease in ethanol sales volumes, net income rose by $66.9 million, supported by improved margins and clean fuel production credits.

Green Plains Inc. reported a strong fourth-quarter performance for 2025, with increased earnings attributed to improved plant efficiency and higher ethanol production capacity, now at 730 million gallons annually. Several plants exceeded capacity, and CO2 compression equipment was launched at Nebraska facilities, enhancing carbon capture operations.
The company sold 178.8 million gallons of ethanol, down from 209.5 million gallons in Q4 2024, while net income rose by $66.9 million. The consolidated ethanol crush margin improved to $44.4 million, aided by clean fuel production credits totaling $27.7 million.
