Growers in Noordoostpolder are collaborating in the Warmte Combinatie Luttelgeest (WCL) to share energy efficiently and reduce pressure on the electricity grid. The project involves Luttelgeest, Pantropica, Bernhard, Forum Lindeweg, Bredefleur, and Forum Bloemenweg, with support from Encosol and Alewijnse.

A sophisticated control system has been implemented, utilizing PLCs at four sites to manage heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and sensors. This setup allows for heat return and enables a central PLC to coordinate energy distribution through a SCADA system, facilitating flexible energy capacity sharing among growers.
