Guyana Power and Light Progresses on US$18.65M National Control Centre Construction
The Board of Directors of Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Inc. visited the Guyana National Control Centre (GNCC) to review construction progress. The facility, funded by the Government of Guyana at US$18.65 million, will feature a SCADA system for monitoring and optimizing electricity distribution. This project is part of the Gas to Energy Project and aims to enhance system reliability and real-time management of the Demerara-Berbice Interconnected System.

The Board of Directors of Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Inc. visited the Guyana National Control Centre (GNCC) to assess progress on its construction. Led by Executive Management Team members, the Board received updates on the facility's development, which will include a SCADA system for efficient electricity distribution across the Demerara-Berbice Interconnected System. Funded by the Government of Guyana at a cost of US$18.65 million, the GNCC is a key element of the Gas to Energy Project, aimed at improving the reliability and management of the power system infrastructure.
