Habia Leadership Reorganization: Axel Barnekow Widmark Named CEO, Mattias Klockars Takes R&D Role
Habia has appointed Axel Barnekow Widmark as CEO effective April 1, 2026, succeeding Carl Modigh, who will serve on the Advisory Board. Mattias Klockars has assumed the role of Vice President of Research & Development, focusing on innovation and technology advancement.

Effective April 1, 2026, Axel Barnekow Widmark will take over as CEO of Habia, replacing Carl Modigh, who transitions to an advisory role. Mattias Klockars has been appointed Vice President of Research & Development as of March 2026, tasked with leading innovation efforts.
Barnekow Widmark has extensive experience in the industrial and energy sectors, previously serving as Executive Vice President at NKT, where he enhanced service and installation operations. His nearly 13-year tenure at ABB included leadership roles in robotics and automation. This leadership change aims to strengthen Habia’s innovation capabilities and strategic direction in the global cable market.
