Hitachi Industrial Equipment Launches Plant-Based Lubricant Reducing CO2 Emissions by 40%
Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems (HIES) has introduced 'GREEN SCREW OIL', a plant-based lubricant for oil-flooded screw air compressors. This lubricant reduces manufacturing CO2 emissions by approximately 90% and overall lifecycle emissions by around 40% compared to conventional synthetic oils. The product aligns with Hitachi's sustainability strategy and supports efficient operations in manufacturing and social infrastructure.

'GREEN SCREW OIL', launched by Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems, is a plant-based lubricant designed for oil-flooded screw air compressors. It significantly cuts manufacturing CO2 emissions by about 90% due to the use of plant-derived materials, leading to an overall lifecycle emission reduction of approximately 40% compared to traditional synthetic oils.
This product supports Hitachi's sustainability goals and is expected to enhance operational efficiency. HIES plans to extend this initiative to other air compressors within the Hitachi Group, potentially reducing CO2 emissions by over 2,000 tons annually.
